CHAI FROM The rest of LOS ANGELES

  1. Aharon coffee roasters in Beverly Hills (cute guy barista, $7 for 12oz is kind of crazy, I got it a little sweetened bc it seems like the place where it could be dirt water. It’s syrupy-I’ll blame myself for that. Idk it has a unique taste but I can’t honestly pick up on any particular flavors. It’s almost nutty? Listen I don’t fucking know don’t fucking ask me about that shit. There’s a ton of ice in this, I honestly don’t think I would get it again lol. Tastes “fine” but there’s too many technical issues for $7.)

  2. Amandine cafe (no clue where this place is, this is tiger chai but it’s less intense I think bc of the soy milk. Whatever it’s icky nasty but I’m still gonna drink it)

  3. And sons (so fucking good, it’s a little milky but the flavor is really solid. It’s cardamom-my, has a perfect spicy kick)

  4. Avva coffee in Beverly Hills ($6.57, she’s measuring- looks like they use their own concentrate and she added a lil sweetener. Always love a little cinnamon dusting on top. Tastes almost turmeric-esk. I think like perfectly sweetened, just have a unique flavor palette because of whichever spices they decided to include in the concentrate. It does have an actual spice to it which I personally enjoy but overall, I really am just seeing the turmeric.)

  5. Bardonna coffee in Santa Monica (girl at register was a lil blonde bitch with nasty energy, chai tastes like the inside of a craft store. Sweet, fake cinnamon flavor, points taken off for straw lid and communal open straw bucket)

  6. Boulon coffee century CITY(tastes like rubbing alcohol ? Somehow? Idk scary.)

  7. Cafe kitsune (honestly it’s a really good chai, I like the flavor, subtly sweet, milky but in the texture not flavor which I like, no weird sediment at the bottom but it was $9, anything more than $7 is blasphemy)

  8. Cafe MayBourne ($11.83 for a fucking chai. Tastes more like oat milk than anything definitely not worth more than $5)

  9. Cafe upper ($8.50 for actual rubbing alcohol? Like what.)

  10. Chaumont (have had before but never reviewed- the concentrate is from like a syrup bottle which is interesting but who knows. Points for cinnamon on top. OK so they must’ve changed how they make their choice because this is not how they used to taste. This is like the way that vanilla extract taste so like almost kind of rummy or alcohol Ish but in a thickened chai form. It looks like Tiger chai and kind of like a similar flavor, sweetness wise, but I don’t know what this is.)

  11. Community goods (good food, good service, efficient, still want to try the sliders. The flavor was pretty mild (potentially diluted) but it was good. Sister and mom liked theirs a lot)

  12. Dayglow( lovely froth, mild spice, good sweetness, points for presentation)

  13. Good boy bob coffee Santa Monica (p good, breaks 12oz rule but they use minor figures, cardamommy, cinnamon on top)

  14. Great White Parchment (Kind of perfumey, thin and watery, chunks of spice. This is just cinnamon water)

  15. Groundwork on Larchmont ($6.75, tbh tastes like it was mixed w water, darker color which tells me it’s more chai than there should, kinda gritty, just tastes like cinnamon water)

  16. Holey grail donuts on Larchmont (unique taste, good price for how much beverage you get. Not super sweet, a little ginger-ish and slightly coconutty.)

  17. Joe and the juice (sweet, not thick like creamy but viscous bc of syrup, cinnamon-ey, first chai w dome lid, it’s fine too sweet for me to REALLY like it but I definitely slammed it)

  18. La Columbe (creamy, sweet milky flavor, good- solid.)

  19. Lala land cafe ($5.25 before tip which is a good price, very cute store w good customer service, not super flavorful, and the cup was mostly filled with ice)

  20. Layla bagels (thin, good flavor but a little too sweet for my liking. I love a creamy chai and this was not that but I would get it again!)

  21. Motoring club  (p good, a darker chai, kinda remind me of when presta was making their own concentrate but they used califia, would mostly go back for the vibes)

  22. Proper coffee (really good price less than five dollars and it actually taste pretty good. The milk is definitely a little watery but I don’t mind it.)

  23. Sachi LA (cute store but mid coffee and food, my chai just tasted like milk so whatever)

  24. Stories books & cafe Echo Park/silverlake/idk it’s all the same area to me ($5, concentrate pictured below and they used minor figures. Sweet and thick but has some spice flavor to it- I feel meh about it bc it’s too sugary for me but nice for the hot day)

  25. Supa coffee on Robertson (looks like it’s masala chai and oatley so I already know what it’s gonna taste like! Yup a milky familiar concoction, even though it is far from the best there’s always beauty in familiarity)

  26. The coffee, bean tea and leaf Century City(This is up there for most disturbing chais I’ve received. As soon as I saw him pour a hot beverage into an ice cup. I knew it was gonna be over. Just from looking at this I know it’s gonna taste like milk. It’s sweet milk, tossed it after two sips not worth the calories)

  27. Urth Cafe (definitely brewed, spicier and thinner, kind of that fruity type of chai)
